Community Innovation for Sustainable Energy researcher produced a report on the Bristol Green Doors community initiative in 2012. The Bristol Green Doors was a community interest company promoting energy efficiency through retrofitting such as insulation and microgeneration systems, by organising eco-open homes in Bristol where retrofitting had taken place. It was established in 2010 and ran more than 50 eco-open home events. The report has outlined key insights into how community energy projects work, including that networking with diverse partners were very important to the growth and diffusion of community energy initiatives, as well as that becoming a self-sustaining enterprise could be a challenge.
