The Climate Cymru campaign was created by Stop Climate Chaos Cymru, a coalition of organisations that work together to stop climate Change. It is hosted by the charity the Welsh Centre for International Affairs (WCIA). The campaign launched in March 2021 with a call for 10,000 voices to take to COP26, and became established in August of the same year, with over 5,000 people adding their voices as well as over 200 partners signing up to Climate Cymru. This powerful coalition of individuals, non-profit organisations and businesses have since been engaging productively with Welsh Government and conducting extensive engagement with organisations across Wales to send a clear message: the people of Wales want meaningful action on climate change. The collective also focuses on areas where the devolved government can have an direct and immediate impact, and coordinating with national and international efforts to address the climate and nature emergencies
