Non-party-political coalition of local groups and residents aiming to inspire transformative climate change action, orchestrated by Climate Emergency Camden (CEC) since April 2019. Members of the coalition include: Friends of the Earth Camden, Transition Towns Camden, Camden Green Party, Divest Camden, Camden Air Action, Power Up North London, Camden Cyclists, Camden Fairtrade Network, Camden Civic Society, and Extinction Rebellion.
CEC has developed a far-reaching Call to Action based on the local environmental impacts of energy use, transport, construction, waste, nature, food, finance and business. CEC’s activities are coordinated through regular (usually) monthly meetings which are open to all members. CEC strives to maintain an open, non-hierarchical, inclusive structure in which all members are able to contribute to CEC’s operations and priorities. The new coalition formation aims to meet their aims through lobbying the shortcomings of local council action for climate change and the ecological crisis.
