Orchestrated by Community Energy Futures as a project of Community Energy Scotland (CES), this programme was established in 2008 and involved active communities, community action, and community innovation regarding energy futures in Scotland. It consisted of interactive workshops allowing participants to explore the complexities of energy-related projects in real life settings and motivating participants to put their ideas forward for developing innovative energy projects. The workshops were followed by a tailored package of one-to-one support designed to help specific community groups move their energy project ideas forward. Since 2008, CES has worked with over 1000 community groups and enabled communities to develop over 500 community owned renewable energy generation assets totalling 37MW.
