Deliberative mapping of citizens and specialists on opening up framings and knowledge of climate geoengineering. The deliberative mapping methodology was carried out by UEA academics during the summer and autumn of 2012 and consisted of 2 citizens’ panel workshops, a joint workshop with citizens and specialists, and specialist interviews. 14 citizens from Norfolk, UK were initially recruited (13 participated in the workshops); and 12 specialists (2 attended the joint session). Results showed that allowing participants to frame the issue themselves led to higher diversity in framings and conceptualisations of geoengineering and more diverse alternatives to climate change mitigation.
