Community Innovation for Sustainable Energy researcher produced a report on the Lyndhurst Community Centre in 2012. The Lyndhurst Community Centre is a charity-run community building in New Forest, Hampshire built in 1962, and used by over 40 local community groups. Following full refurbishment in 2009-2010 it now has a biomass boiler for energy conservation. The report has outlined key insights into the capabilities of community-led energy projects, including that project implementation depended on both committed leaders and motivated community members; and that securing funding for such community projects could be tricky but learning through the process of delivering these could be very beneficial in terms of networking and project development and implementation.
