Survey conducted in March 2022 by The Eco Experts to develop a deeper understanding of the UK public’s attitudes to renewable energy. 1150 individuals from across the UK, aged between 21-80, and including homeowners, tenants, and people who live at home with their parents participated, answering to a total of 19 topical questions about rising energy bills, concern about climate change, and low-carbon technology. The findings uncover high levels of public support for sustainable energy solutions, as exemplified by high levels of interest in buying homes that are either energy efficient or equipped with solar panels, and by strong public support for government investment in green energy to reduce reliance on gas. Unfortunately, a number of barriers to sustainable energy consumption are also uncovered. Indicatively, whilst individuals are interested in investing in green technologies, the persistently high prices of green appliances is prohibitive.
