Researchers at the University of Cambridge and UEA carried out analyses on the final wave (2012) of the Community and Health in Cambridge, UK, cohort study in order to investigate changes in the patterns of walking, cycling and bus travel following the opening of a new guided busway. 453 adult commuters who had not moved home or work during the cohort participated in the survey. 30.7% of the participants reported having used the guided bus, 40% having cycled on the path, and 32.2% having walked on the path. The study results showed that the new busway attracted adult commuters and its use was associated with residential proximity to the busway.
